NEW IN - ALL THAT IS GOLD GLITTERS

I have decided to break up my new in goodies from Christmas into different parts that I think go together nicely to make it more visually pleasing and have shorter posts. :)
These goodies are all pretty in tones of blush and with lots of bling and gold! The heels and sunnies were not Christmas gifts but were bought recently so I am just adding them as well :)

I love the retro shades, my mom bought them at Aldo for me and usually I dont like lighter frames but these are so cute and the shape is perfect! I have been wanting cat eye ones forever and I am so glad I finally found some.

The handbag is from my sister. She obviously knows me very well as dirty pink blush color is one of my favorites and I adore anything gold and bling. I have already been wearing this handbag everyday!

I bought the heels at Mr Price on sale for only R79! That is about $10 I think and they are so comfy and very cute. 

The stunning bling bracelet was a gift from my mom and it is from Forever new. It is totally my style as well and I have been searching for some more pretty arm candy so that one is perfect especially for summer.

Hi everyone! Hope you are having a happy festive season so far. I cant believe this year has come to an end. It has been a fun but busy year so far back in Cape Town but I definitely feel myself getting anxious to travel again. Hopefully next year we will be settled and get the opportunity to visit some more amazing places!

List of goals for 2013:

1. Travel to at least 3 new places.
2. Grow my blog and create the most unique and amazing content that I can.
3. Grow my youtube channel to at least 50,000 subscribers (this has been an on and off project but this coming year I will be investing in lighting and really giving it a go putting out videos on specific days)
4. Save for something (not sure what yet, maybe a new iMac or a kitchen aid mixer)
5. Be more organized
6. Get to 10k followers on instagram (I am at 3590 now and if you want to help push it my username is superficialgirl :)
7. Start running (so that I can at least keep up with Michael a little bit)
8. Be more active in social media. Commenting on blogs and answering questions.
9. Finish our apartment (I really slacked on it the whole year but it seems to be coming together a bit better now!)
10. Stick to my goals! :P 

These are just a few of the less personal goals I thought I would share with you!

Special Moments

I love extra special moments! One of them was on Christmas eve when I opened a little box containing a delicate gold chain and gold Maltese cross. This was an extra special thoughtful gift from Michael and I have been wearing it everyday!

New in - MAC, ZARA, DECOR

Today all my goodies are in kind of in the black and white category! If you don't know I have been putting all my gifts into a lot of smaller posts instead of one big one which makes it more fun and easier to look at. Check out my bling & blush goodies as well as a very special presentthat I have already posted about. 

I received this stunning candle in a little glass dome from my sister and I love how it fits in with my decor! It is also great because I can use the items separately as well and I have wanted a cute glass dome for a while now!

Then I got MAC studio sculpt foundation and MAC fix+ from Michael as little extra goodies. I have been needing fix+ for a while now so I am so glad to have it again.

The stunning tee is something my sister actually dropped off yesterday. She bought it for me after my mom said I saw it at Zara and loved it! I cant wait to style and wear it which will definitely be asap!

LUSH Bubble wands review - Bubble Beard & Magic Wand

I was lucky enough to get a whole bunch of Lush goodies under the tree at Christmas time and I thought I would review them for you even though they are all the Christmas themed products.
  

Bubble beard:
This cute bubble bar comes on a stick so you can swirl it around in your bath to create bubbles. I found that the stick was very flimsy so I couldn't really use the stick but it worked just as well when I actually held it. It is really cute obviously and has a slight white shimmer. It smells a lot like mens aftershave or shaving cream with the featured scent of sandalwood. I personally love the smell but it is definitely not girly. It made bubbles rather quickly and a lot in my opinion although not so much when I swirled it more afterwards when I started mixing it up with my hand. The bubbles were only lightly scented but they were lovely and creamy! I think you will get about 5-7 baths out of it depending on the size of the bath and how many bubbles you like!

Magic wand:
This bubble bar is described as the solid version of snow fairy and it smells sweet and clean. It leaves the bathwater a light dirty pink color and feels to me that it makes less bubbles for the same amount of swirling as bubble beard. Magic wand also feels slightly crumblier to me so I think it might not last quite as long as bubble beard. I do however love the concept and packaging around it as it is the Snow fairy's wand with a little bell and bow.

I adore baking and recently I have gotten a whole load of pretty baking goodies which is motivating me to definitely start making more yummy bites! I have always wanted a white kitchen so I could add touches of pastel (a pink or silver kitchen aid is my ultimate!) but unfortunately you dont have much choice when renting and although I love our kitchen it is far from being glossy white! 

In hopes of one day being able to design my own kitchen I will just keep on collecting pastels kitchen goodies!

I have really been having a love affair with yellow lately. It instantly perks up my mood and I can wear it with so many different colors. This look is kind of edgy but also sweet and happy which is obviously my favorite :)

I have been slowly getting into the swing of the new year and it has been great. Two things have made me laugh to the point of tears, Pitch Perfect (the movie) and an instagram profile called tunameltsmyheart. I shouldnt be laughing at the second one but I promise you that you wont be able to help yourself so go check it out!

This week I tried some nail designs, I dont have any nail art equipment and my nails arnt the prettiest but I had so much fun doing it and I hope I will get better! I am not really one for wearing things like cupcakes on my nails normally, but it would be fun for a special occasion (cupcake tea party anyone??)

Yesterday was super sweet overdose and today is a lot more edgy! Skulls, black and white and super sleek sunnies mixed with some studs make a sophisticated and chic outfit with a hint of daring.

I love the black and white combo, and I think it can work in so many ways be it for daytime or night time. Sheer shirts and white pants are another no-no that I love to embrace. I think as long as you wear it in a classy way you can totally get away with it. 

In other news my hair is growing out viciously and I have no idea what to do with it. I might not want it very blonde anymore so now I am putting off doing my roots. Any ideas are welcome! :)

How I Edit My Instagram Photos - My Favorite Iphone/Ipad Apps

Happy Monday everyone! Today I have an extra special post for you, how I edit my instagram photos! I get asked which app I am using on so many of my photos that I thought it would be easier to just do a blog post that you can reference! You can follow me on instagram - superficialgirl

I love pretty pictures so I use lots of apps with bokeh filters to prettify!  My most used instagram filters are nashville, walden and valencia.




DeluxeFX - $0.99
Great for adding dramatic color and pretty bokeh

Bokehful - $0.99 
Not my favorite app but you can add colorful bokeh in different places.

Lenslight - $0.99
Love this app! It has loads of different bokeh options as well as other cool effects like
rainbows, chroma rings etc.

Diptic -
Diptic - $0.99 
By far my most used app. I use this to show my outfit photos. Not sure why it doesnt get good ratings in the app store but I love it!

Labelbox -FREE
This is a free app so you dont get very much but what you get is fine for what I want it for. A few different labels, like black and white (my fave!) princess and masking tape. 

Instalikes - FREE
Quite a cute app if you like having funny stuff on your photos. I havent used it but thought I would include it as I actually searched for ages after seeing a pic that said double tap to make this heart grow bigger. Very cute idea but the app is full of ads so beware! :P

ProHDR - $1.99
This app is great for taking photos in low light or photos where you want more details. I use this all the time for landscape photos!

I am a big fan of the color mint, all things pretty and yummy delightful goodies so imagine my excitement when my mom bought over a pretty mint and gold bag with a little purple box of deliciousness! Her lovely friend that lives overseas brought me a super sweet gift of Ladurée macarons and I am so thankful as I have always wanted to try them!

I wanted to do an outfit that was fitting, so I decided to go for the mint them with a whole lot of girly elements. If you haven't noticed I had to touch up my hair! I still havent decided what I want to do with it but in the meantime I just cant let it go to ruin. Hopefully I will decide on something soon :)

I have been wanting to wear this top on a post ever since I got it from my sister (yay thanks again!) I saw it in Zara and instantly adored it. It is not 100% my usual style but I did think I would get a lot of wear out of it and I definitely have so far!

I wore it paired up with white jeans (a classic staple in my opinion) some cute Topshop sandals and loads of arm candy!

New in - Accessories

I bought a few pretty girly things recently that I thought I would share! The sweet pink flower candle was on sale at @home and I just could not resist buying it for my vanity. I try and keep pink out of the room as I do share it with a male (poor Michael) but I thought a touch of pink would just brighten up my very white space! Ps. How cute is the cellphone cover the lovely Emma gave me. So girly and perfect for me!

Then I got two pretty statement necklaces from Mr Price. The one is pastel and the other one has touches of green and looks quite tribal. I cant wait to style them and I have really been loving Mr Price necklaces recently.

I also got some arm candy from the Lovisa sale. I have the skull bracelet in pastel and I have gotten so much wear out of it I definitely felt I needed the gold and black one, especially as it was marked down from R180 to R50! The pink spike bracelet for R50 was also way to cute to resist!

Hi everyone! Hope you are all having a FAB day so far! We are dying of heat here in Cape Town but I have no complaints other than I wish I could just spend every day at the beach!

I hope with these photos I dont bring to life anyones worst nightmares (see below why I would say that) Myself and Michael can be ultra weird at the best of times and getting up close and personal with the pigeons in the company gardens was actually pretty everyday stuff for us. I dont usually like birds as they seem to always want to scare or attack me but these cuties were so friendly I wanted to take one as a pet (haha jip weirdness) 

We went for a drink at the outdoor cafe they have there and then a pretty stroll up to the museum and it took me back to when I was very small and myself and mom would walk there all the time. So weird how things change.

I am absolutely loving these stunning Versace print shades from Sunglass hut! Definitely expect to see a post very soon of me wearing them. They fit like a total dream and I love the statement pattern on the sides. 

Zara has been getting in some awesome tee's lately (like the si freak si chic one I was wearing recently) and this very cool Save the Queen one!
