This weekend we got an amazing taste of summer and even though it just lasted 2 days (today is overcast boo!) it was a perfect way to relax before a crazy week ahead. We spent most of our time at the pool or beach and yesterday the weekend ended off with the smell of summer in the air and a neon sunset over the atlantic. My view from the pool at Clifton | New Fanta beach
At the beach with Michael | Blue water and palm trees
At the pool | Perfect sunset for a Sunday evening

Woolworths vest | Glamorousuk glitter shorts (similar ones at Topshop)| Oasap.com sandals | VJ Style handbag | Woolworths jacket
This weekend was to hot to be bothered with wearing fussy clothing but I still needed to put some kind of sparkle in my outfit. I loved pairing up the ultra glam shorts with very casual pieces. I still have so many cute shorts in my cupboard that I want to start wearing but I always feel if I wear them all now I wont have any "new" ones for summer which I obviously nonsense but apparently the way my brain works! :P

I am so in love with graphic sweaters and tees at the moment (like this bonjour one) so when I saw this Pardon my french tee from Kate Spade I instantly wanted it! I love how they paired it up at NYFW but it would just as cute with some boyfriend jeans!
How would you wear it?

Yay for another DIY! After thinking what I could do with the lovely gold chain I bought on etsy I decided for summer it would be great to make some chain and woven bracelets. I bought mint, peach and neon pink cord and decided to do a tutorial for you guys with the pink!
It came out so pretty and it is really easy to make. Check out the step by step video below (or the step by step instructions with pics) and remember to pin it if you love DIY! Step by Step instructions: 1. You will need scissors, some gold chain (I bought mine on etsy) , 1.5m cord (I used thin silk cord), a lighter and also some tape and a pair of pliers (not pictured)2. Start of by getting a smaller piece of chain of the bigger piece with pliers. I used 11 links for my bracelet but you could use more or less depending on the size of your links and your wrist! Tape the chain onto a flat surface. Cut of a piece of the cord about 2 and a half times as long as your piece of chian and loop it through the bottom link of the chain. Make sure the two pieces of cord are even at the end and tape the bottom of the cord to the table so it is nice and tight.3. Take the rest of your cord and place it underneath your base cord also making sure it is even on both sides. Now we can begin to weave!4. Pick a side to start from and form a loop going over the base cord.5. Now take the other side over the loop.6. Take the side you took over the loop and stick it underneath the base cord and into the first loop you created.7. Now tighten it and do the same action again but from the other side (much easier to see how in the video above!)8. When your weave is as long as you want it put the rest of the base cord into the other end of the chain from the inside going out and check how long you want it so your hand will fit through.9. Secure the base cord to your woven piece and carry on weaving over the double cord until you reach the end10. Tie a knot at the end and burn closed with a lighter (the ends will melt together. Also cut off the rest of the base cord that will be in the woven piece and burn off the ends. Turn your bracelet around and viola!

Neon jeans from Mr Price | Wedges from Truworths | Woolworths white top | Zara white zip jacket | Forever new neon pink and gold statement necklace | Call it Spring spike bracelet | DIY neon and chain bracelet Hints of neon are everywhere in the shops now as summer quickly approaches and although its not everyone's favorite trend I think there is a lot to be said for bright colors mixed with nudes and whites. It gives it a fresh edge so that the neon doesn't look dated and injects some fun and spontaneity into an everyday outfit. Some people have been asking how to wear neon pink jeans and although you can easily just pair them up with a loose white tee and some flip flops why not make them interesting by mixing in some texture and shapes.
This is a perfect casual chic outfit that will not look out of place at the office or after work drinks, just switch your big daytime handbag for a cute clutch and you will be on your way!
I always think if you are scared of a trend embrace it in moderation and accessories. If you don't feel you are quite there with the neon jeans just wearing a bright statement necklace (these are so hot right now!) ,a few bright bracelets or a pair of neon heels will do the trick. I simply adore these low wedges from Truworths as they are comfortable enough to wear the whole day and they are predominantly a nude color with just the slightest edge of pink to elevate them.

Recently I started getting obsessed with getting a white tray but for some reason I could not find the right shape, right color right anything until this bamboo one from Mr Price home came along! It was the exact shape I wanted and the color situation was easily rectified with a little DIY! All you need is some paint, rollers a paintbrush and viola a pretty white tray is yours!Seeing that people might question my sanity as to why I so desperately wanted a plain white tray here are some ways to use it around the house (and I dont mean eating dinner off it in front of the tv tsk tsk!)
It makes a lovely center piece for a coffee table:Stack on some books a candle an interesting ornament or two (and some flowers in a small vase if you have that!) and it gives your coffee table an instant update.Cocktail hour anyone:The tray can be used as a cute way to serve cocktails or wine at your next party or just use it as your bar cart on top of a server in your dining area or lounge.Pretty little things:Keep your vanity organized by adding a white tray to store your prettiest things. It is so much fun switching out different items to create different looks. Things that are always cute to include are candles (isnt the teacup one the custest!) pretty bottles of perfume (a vintage bottle gives class and interest) some flowers, makeup and your favorite bits of jewelry!

G couture jacket | Zara boyfriend jeans (similar ones from J Brand) Shoes I bought on ebay ages ago | River island handbag | H&M tee | Assortment of arm candy from Woolworths, Milor, Asos and DIY
For the public holiday yesterday (heritage day aka braai day!) I decided to keep it classic and comfy. It was overcast in the morning so a jacket was needed but later the sun graced us with its presence and it got delightfully toasty outside! I love matching as you all know but brought a bit of interest with the snakeskin handbag and navy over sized tee. The boyfriend jeans from Zara obviously make the look totally casual chic and I added just a hint of pink arm candy to remind myself of my love for color.Photos by Michael from Stillframemylife.com

Yesterday I got a perfect ending to my day by receiving these D&G beauties from Sunglasses shop in the post! They were delivered to my door by UPS and it took less than a week from the UK which was amazing fast service!
I had been looking for a nice pair of black sunglasses for a while now but I am so extremely picky that I have almost only worn my round Gucci ones for the last year and a half not finding something halfway suitable. When I saw these though it was love at first sight. Big lenses is a must for me and I loved the gold detailing on the sides, I also love how it kind of looks like a gradient in the lenses as well just like my Gucci ones. I thought the cat eye shape would be great for summer and a bit of a change for me from the round shape I love. The first thing Michael said though when he saw them was that they are very "Carlinn" whatever that means hehe!
Now that I found this pair I cant wait to start searching for more to build up my collection! Next on my list this stunning pair of Cats Eye Ray-Bans and these ever so stylish Chanel sunnies.

She goes from cutesy to color blocking to glam and even though I not everything is my style I always find inspiration from her interesting style!

Dark decor brightened up with pink flowers and a girly Chanel painting
Every now and then the mood strikes me and all I feel like doing is looking at decor ideas on pinterest, its so addictive right? Here are some pretty interiors I am loving at the moment!Uber girly over the top loft apartment! This is definitely only something you can do when you live alone. I think Mike would go crazy with all the pink but omw that fridge! *swoon*
I need a mirror like this in my life...
How cute would a polka dot statement wall be for a black and white decor lover like myself!
This could be a easy DIY to brighten up a room.
Open closet for someone much tidier than myself!

When Revlon asked me to do a nail tutorial to promote Cancer.vive I immediately thought of ombre nails. I used the colors of the Cancervive organisation to create the two different nail looks and made a video tutorial on how to recreate them.
How you can support Cancer.vive:- Show your support for this inspiring initiative by liking Cancer.vive on Facebook or follow them on Twitter
- Assist the Cancer.vive team with their fundraising efforts by attending one of their fundraising events or by making an online donation.
- Find out how you can host your own fundraising event in support of the 2012 ride.
- Visit the Cancer.vive website www.cancervive.co.za and post your message of support and encouragement for the riders participating this year.

Almost time for another busy week to start but at least I got to have a very relaxing weekend! We have eventually bought a tv for the apartment after a year of not having one! We didnt want one to start off with but moving our couch around to the mac every time we wanted to watch something was getting ridiculous so we gave in and bought a 3D one with all the bells and whistles (boys will be boys!) It came at a great time as Michael is super sick so we spent the whole of yesterday watching movies. One of the movies was Rock of ages and I have to say I really really enjoyed it so if you havent seen it do yourself a favour and watch it.
I also scored some super awesome buys over the weekend including this sweet aztec skirt and strappy heels from Mr Price. They also seem to have redone the Canal Walk shop about which is quite nice but save yourself the hassle and do not go there on a Saturday... The line was horrible and there were only like four cashiers. All in all its a mess on weekends so either buy online or go during the week or to one of their less busy stores like the one in Sea point or town!
What have you been up to this weekend?

Yay for for October, I hope you are all having a good start to the month! This month is exciting as it is Michael's birthday and.... our 10 year anniversary WOW time flies right?
Anyway here are some cute goodies I got in the last couple of days. Loving Mr Price at the moment, it feels like they are just getting better and better and you can really get bargain trends to spruce up your wardrobe. Also bought some goodies on the 70% less sale from ASOS which are perfect for summer!

Chain Print Jacket from Moda | Zara boyfriend jeans | D&G Sunglasses from Sunglasses shop | Mr Price flats
I am not usually a fan of overly crazy prints but I just fell in love with the print on this jacket. It has a relaxed but glam feel to which works so well with the boyfriend jeans. Yes I still love the jeans and I seriously need to stop wearing them or they might run the risk of falling apart after a just a few weeks.
