Yesterday was actually the perfect day to post these outfit shots that were taken over the weekend as it was boiling hot outside and today unfortunately its raining. So everyone that has hot weather its perfect for you and everyone who doesnt lets try and imagine lying by the pool in the sun (or just have a laugh at WHAM Club Tropicana) I actually also went to go pick up papers for a new passport as mine is expiring next month and I cant be without one! Hopefully someone feels like whisking me away to a nice tropical place very soon! :)


Tuesday wishlist - Asos stiletto sandals (seeing these everywhere on my fave bloggers! Wouldnt mind a neon pair either), Rare peplum dress , Asos gold toe cap heels , Hi-lo animal print dress (what is not to love!!)

I received a few more goodies in the post and I am so excited to share them with you. The white chain dress is from Asos and I just had to have it because it will be soooo stunning for summer. The fit is amazing and the material is thick so even though it is white its not see-through! :) 


Then I bought the palm tree dress from New Look that I mentioned before on the blog and some coral wedges that were on sale. These are all summer items but I am sure I will find a nice day to wear them on in winter! :)

I love the color that a low sunset over the sea gives everything. You get enveloped in a dreamy glow and everything just seems so much prettier! This was my outfit on Saturday before going out to watch the rugby so its very relaxed and comfortable. I havent worn my plum jacket or shoes for quite a while so I hauled them out of the endless pit that is my closet (just because its so small but i can never find anything inside it!) and paired them with some relaxed casual items.

A question that has been popping up quite a lot in my inbox recently is how to wear colored skinny jeans and seeing that pretty pastel ones are so in right now I thought I would do a styling video on different ways to wear skinny jeans. Not much to say today except a storm hit Cape Town this morning and it is absolutely horrible outside! It has been 100% non stop rain and after we came back from running errands my electric gate didnt want to open so we had to wait until someone could manually open it for us. All in all not so great but hopefully things will get better later with a glass of wine and some yummy food!

Happy Bok Friday everyone! The Springboks are playing tomorrow so I hope you are all getting ready to be fab supporters! Happy Monday! Hope you have all had a fab weekend! Mine was great, filled with bubble baths, movies and snuggling as nights have really started becoming colder. I love this Palm tree dress from New Look , I thought it was a bit to long when I received it but it actually looks really cute and I love the back detailing! It will most probably look better with a tan but as its winter here I had to deal with what I have! :P

I have been getting a lot of wear from my cute Forever new trench and I am so glad I gave in and bought it! I have more trenches on my wishlist but seeing as I am living in an eternal summer in my head (and suffering because of it) I am not sure if I will even get there.

I am so happy at last I got a chance to show of my gorgeous floral print jeans on such a stunning winter (yes can you believe its winter and its so hot!) day :P I love this floral print and the colors as its nice and soft and not to in your face, so sweet and romantic.

What better way to start a gorgeous Friday morning than with pink lamingtons! They are one of my favorite treats and it just seemed right to make them yummy and pretty! I bake out of my head (dont ask, it must be a special talent... So this is the recipe I came up with.) 



Ingredients for cake: 
1 3/4 cup of flour 
2 teaspoons baking powder 
2 eggs 
1 teaspoon vanilla essence 
1 cup of white sugar 
3/4 cup of butter 1/2 cup of milk 
Pink food coloring 


Ingredients for sauce: 
Canderel yellow 
2 tablespoons cocoa powder 
1/2 cup of milk 
2 tablespoons of butter 
Coconut 


Method: 
Switch oven on 180 degrees c and butter a square baking pan. 
Put sugar and butter in a bowl and mix till smooth, add eggs one at a time and mix with an electric mixer till light yellow. Add vanilla essence. 
Sift in flour and baking powder and then milk and food coloring until it has a loose smooth consistency. 
Pour into baking dish and put in the oven for about 20-30min until a skewer stick comes out clean. 
Take out of the oven and let cool on baking rack. 
While it is cooling down make the sauce. Add butter, milk and canderel yellow (add the sweetener to taste) and microwave until the butter has melted. Add cocoa powder and mix well. Cut the cooled cake into squares. Dip it in the chocolate mixture first and then into the coconut. Let it settle and dry, best served the next day!

This past weekend we went to Durban for the Top Gear festival (which was awesome but more about that later) but something I was really excited about was going to Zara in the gateway mall , which was also strategically (hehe) situated very close to our Hotel. The Zara in Cape Town isnt open yet so it was nice to get a little sneak peak of SA Zara before it comes here. I bought a few things including velvet glasses, a patent pink clutch, jeans and two tops that you will see in my outfit posts this week.


I didnt want to buy to much as I am holding out for the spring launch at the Waterfront Zara but I am really happy with the goodies that I did get! 


Oh and just on a side note the staff at the Gateway Zara were soooo awesome and friendly, made my experience great, thank you! x

I must say I am really not loving the chilly wind in Cape Town today after the lovely weather we had in Durban over the weekend! On Saturday and Sunday we dashed to the Gateway mall to go to the Zara there and i couldn't help buying a few things!


I wish I could have dont more OOTD's in Durban but we were honestly just so busy and all over the place I didnt get any time. It was lovely there though and we even got to go drifting at the Top Gear festival which was so awesome. 


We also got some really cool shots (including some of my OOTD pics) with a lens from Photohire.co.za . Its a 10-22mm lens and it takes amazing wide angle shots. If you ever want to try out some lenses or any other camera equipment you should definitely check them out!

Today myself and my mom started sorting out my garage and wow is all I can say! I haven't unpacked some of my vacuum sealed winter clothes from Malta and I found so many great things not to mention about 6 of Michael's suits. Total score and now we are going to convert some of the garage to use as closet space for me as unfortunately (and embarrassingly) my clothes just dont all fit inside our apartment's cupboards...


At least the garage is huge so we have a clothing rail inside there now and we are putting clear bags over all my big jackets etc. Now that I have space sorted out I went out and bought some more stuff! Not actually for that reason but I couldn't help buying a denim shirt and some long sleeve tops today for chillier weather.

This weekend has been a mix of indulgences (think tipsy pudding and homemade croque monsieur ) and healthy living (did an 8.5km walk/run half of it in the rain though!)


I have never been a runner so I was actually very surprised and motivated when I didn't keel over and roll down the hill after a few minutes.
